Patil hints at foreign hand in Ajmer blast
Ajmer, Oct 13 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil today hinted at cross border links in the blast in Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti's Durgah here on Thursday, saying there could be a foreign hand behind the terror act which left two people dead and several injured.Talking to mediapersons after taking on-the-spot stock of the situation in the Durgah Sharif here, Mr Patil said hints from the preliminary investigation suggested that the connections to blast execution were spread beyond the border.Mr Patil, however, refused to divulge details with the media, in this regard and said it was not an appropriate time. The Home Minister's observation assumes significance in the light of hints given by the investigative personnel about the possible involvement of Karachi-based Bilal and militant outfit HuJI in the Thursday's blast.

Patil doesn't reveal leads, his Jr says neighbour
Shillong/Kohima, May 14: The government has leads on those who carried out the serial blasts in Jaipur that claimed at least 60 lives and injured over 100 people, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil said."The Centre has leads about the elements involved in the the strikes. But we will not disclose it now. Investigation is in progress," he said."There is a design behind the strikes," Patil said.Later at Kohima, he said he was in constant touch with his Ministry officials in Delhi to monitor the situation in Jaipur. He was also in touch with Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and had assured her of help from the Centre.Patil lauded the people of Rajasthan for showing restraint despite provocation by those who were trying to disturb peace. He said he would visit Jaipur on Thursday along with Congress president Sonia Gandhi to take stock of the situation.Blasts have links with a neighbouring country'The Centre said the Jaipur serial blasts smacked of a ‘deep-rooted and very well-planned conspiracy’ to disturb communal harmony in the country and suggested that the links of the terror strike were in a ‘neighbouring’ country.Without specifying any country, Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal told a press conference that it could be any of the neighbouring countries -- Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Myanmar -- that were facing internal turmoil. After visiting the blasts sites, Jaiswal refused to specify the organization, which was suspected to be behind the explosions saying that investigations were still on."I will not like to name the dangerous outfits," he said.To a specific query whether HuJI of Bangladesh was behind Tuesday's attack, he remained evasive, merely saying that those involved would be ‘thoroughly exposed’ very soon.He said there could be a link between the Jaipur blast and those that had occurred in Varanasi, Faizabad, Ajmer and Hyderabad in the past. In most cases the hand of HuJI was suspected. The Minister said though the outfit behind the incident aimed to disturb the communal harmony, it failed in its mission. "Rather the communal harmony has become stronger as people who did not fall prey to its nefarious designs," he said.He said the blasts were carried out with the help of high intensity explosives like RDX or by using Ammonium Nitrate and the NSG team rushed from here would soon be able find out the nature of the materials used to carry out the blasts. To repeated questions whether it was another case of intelligence failure, Jaiswal said there was no specific input when and where the terrorists would strike in Jaipur. There was a general alert after the Ajmer blast in 2007, he said adding it would be wrong to say that there was an intelligence failure. He said the incident once again underlined the need for having a federal investigating agency but till all states agreed to that, it would be difficult to do so.As of now, state governments can beef up their security machinery and tone up vigilance. They should also make the state police hi-tech and fill the vacancies without any further delay, he said.Jaiswal said the incident was highly condemnable and felt that whoever has done it ‘is the enemy of our country’.

13-10-2007: By Dipanjan Roy Chaudhury NEW DELHI, Oct 13 (KUNA) -- Three pilgrims were killed and 20 injured in a blast in the world famous Ajmer Dargah in Western Indian state of Rajasthan Thursday evening. The Indian security agencies were suspecting the hand of Bangladesh-based Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islam (HuJI) in the Ajmer blast. HuJI was believed to have carried out the blast in Hyderabad as well, the official said. The Hyderabad police had arrested several suspected HuJI operatives following the blast at the mosque. In both blasts, terrorists chose a religious place to ignite communal passion. Both the explosions were triggered during prayers for maximum casualties, the official said. The SIM card recovered from the unexploded bomb at Mecca Masjid was bought by the guerrillas in the fake name of one Babu Lal Yadav from Eastern Indian city of Kolkata. Investigations into the Ajmer blasts have revealed that the SIM recovered from the unexploded bomb was also bought in the name of Babu Lal Yadav. In this case too, as in that of Mecca Masjid, the SIM had been bought from Kolkata and the buyer had given a false address, India's leading English daily 'The Hindustan Times' reported today. A live bomb was defused in Ajmer Friday. "It is now believed that mobile phones had been used in both Ajmer and Mecca Masjid blasts as the triggering device," the official said, adding, "The cell phone had been attached to the explosive. An alarm clock would have been the trigger. The moment the alarm went off, it would have triggered the explosive." Meanwhile, six people, including two Bangladeshi nationals, have been detained in Ajmer Friday on suspicion of their involvement in the blast.
Indian Home Minister Shivraj Patil is scheduled to visit Ajmer Saturday to review the situation. He will also visit the injured in the hospital and hold a meeting with senior police officials and the civil administration of Rajasthan.

Civility in public discourse is one of the prerequisites for a vibrant democracy. It is in this light that both the RSS and the BJP distanced themselves from former RSS chief K S Sudarshan’s remarks on Sonia Gandhi. Sangh leader M G Vaidya has gone to the extent of asking the Congress to file a defamation suit against the octogenarian RSS leader. But can maintaining decorum in public discourse be a one-way street? And what has been the Congress record in this respect so far? The party, along with communists, has been in forefront in pasting labels, making slanderous allegations and in carrying out smear campaigns against its political opponents.
Take Sudarshan’s charge of Sonia Gandhi being a CIA agent. During Indira Gandhi’s regime, especially when the communists were her allies in the ’70s, a climate of CIA agents under every bed and in every political corner was fostered. This went to such absurd extent that a mosquito research project supported by American institutions was scuttled after reports circulated that the CIA was planning to exterminate the population of India.
Leading Congressmen went hammer and tongs against America with this story and little attempt was made from the government to nip the theory in the bud. Soon Indira Gandhi’s storm troopers were on the street linking Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan and the entire Opposition leadership to CIA. This flame was fanned by reports of CIA agents being located at every turn and CIA money funding the growing anti-dictatorship campaign. It helped the Congress to damn the Opposition and then clamp Emergency and put them all behind the bars.
During the 19 months of Emergency, JP was pilloried as a CIA agent. In 1980, when Congress returned to power, the witchhunt against JP and several Gandhian institutions was resumed and an inquiry commission was set up to nail every Gandhian activist, including JP who was dead by then. The so-called Kudal Commission report became the political Bible of the Congress and it recommended persecution of Gandhian institutions for years to come.
If calling patriotic Indians CIA agents is not bad enough, now, jihadi nomenclature is being invoked by the Congress to tar the Sangh Parivar. Rahul Gandhi publicly equated the RSS to the SIMI. Another powerful general secretary Digvijay Singh made an equally outlandish statement saying there was no difference between the LeT and the RSS. Many may differ with the RSS’ ideology but few or none will dispute the robust nationalism of its members and its leaders.
Linking Sonia Gandhi to the unfortunate assassination of either Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi is unacceptable. The Congress has for the last over 60 years sought to reassert its false propaganda about the RSS being responsible for Gandhiji’s assassination. That is despite the highest court in the land absolving it of any such action or intent. Gandhiji’s assassination had been seen by hundreds of the people who came to his prayer meeting that fateful day. The man responsible had himself justified his action.
The initial ban on the RSS was lifted thereby silently admitting that the government was wrong in imposing it. The conspiracy behind this had been unearthed and the small group that conspired to do it had been rightly punished for its unacceptable act. The investigators not only could not produce any evidence linking it to the RSS but also unearthed all the participants in the conspiracy, none of them from the RSS. Yet, the Congress has propagated this alleged link for over half a century now.
On the other hand when the security agencies unearth suicide bombing or other type of terrorist action by a group at Azamgarh in UP, and arrest some of the lead conspirators, top Congressmen make a beeline to the area and express sympathy for the arrested, as if terror is a condonable offence, if the perpetrators are from a particular community. To cap it all, the thread of irresponsible statements in political parlance come from the Union home minister who coins the usage ‘saffron’ terrorism.
Even though there was widespread condemnation of his irresponsible attempt to tar the entire RSS with such linkage, he has not till date withdrawn his remarks. Some Congress leaders were even offering sympathies publicly to the associates of the terrorists shot in the Batla House encounter in Delhi. Not satisfied with this sympathy they went to the extent of blaming the police officers who dared to trace these terrorists and later the ones whose timely action helped catch Kasab in the 26/11 attacks. No Congress leader of stature has condemned this demonstrated sympathy for terrorists by the partymen and the condemnation of police officers who lost their lives in saving the country.
There has been a spate of violent protest by Congressmen outside RSS offices all over the country in the wake of Sudarshan’s remarks. This sort of outrage is rare for Congressmen who generally ignore even the most blasphemous comments against Bharatmata or other national icons.
None of the Congress leaders chose to protest against the anti-India rantings by Arundhati Roy on the Kashmir issue. M F Husain, who had insulted Hindu gods and goddesses by painting them nude, was defended on the plea that he was using his right of freedom of expression. How come Sudarshan does not enjoy the freedom which is available to the likes of Roy or Husain?
So, it would be no surprise if the dragon seeds that the Congress has sown against its political opponents some time return to harass it. The responsibility to keep the political soil free from such false accusations is a joint responsibility of the political class. It is more so of the Congress for it is the largest political formation in the country and has been in power for most part of the last 60 years. For a change, why not the present Congress chief apologise for the false propaganda that was unleashed on, if not the RSS, at least on JP and Gandhian institutions by previous Congress regimes.

An empress of India in new clothes

12 Nov 2010

Like Sonia Gandhi, I am a Westerner and a brought-up Christian. Like Sonia Gandhi, I have lived in India many years and I have adopted this country as my own.

But the comparison ends there. I did land in India with a certain amount of prejudices, clichés and false ideas, and I did think in the enthusiasm of my youth to become a missionary to bring back Indian ‘pagans’ to the ‘true god’. But the moment I stepped in India I felt that there was nothing much that I could give to India, rather it was India which was bestowing me. In fact in all my years here India has given me so much — professionally, spiritually, sentimentally. Most Westerners, who come here, still think they are here to ‘give’ something to a country, which, unconsciously of course, they think is lesser than theirs. It was true of the British, it was true of Mother Teresa, it is true of Sonia Gandhi.

It is a fact that Sonia brought discipline, order and cohesion into the Indian National Congress. But the amount of power that she, a person of foreign origin, an elected MP like hundreds of others, possesses should frighten her. All the television channels report without a blink that Maharashtra CM rushes to Delhi to meet Sonia Gandhi to plead for his life. But should not Chavan have gone to the prime minister first?

The CBI blatantly and shamelessly quashed all injunctions against Ottavio Quattrocchi and even allowed him to get away with billions of rupees which he had stolen from India. Yet, without batting an eyelid, and with the Indian media turning a blind eye, it goes ruthlessly after the chief minister of the most efficiently run state, the most corruption free. Today the Congress, with Sonia’s overt or silent consent, pays crores of rupees to buy MPs to topple non-Congress governments. Her governors shamelessly hijack democracy by twisting the law.

Are Indians aware that their country has entered a state of semi-autocracy where every important decision comes from a single individual residing in her fortress of 10 Janpath surrounded by dozens of security men, an empress of India? Do they know that the huge amounts of the scams, whether the 2G, the CWG, or the Adarsh housing society scam, do not go into politicians’ pockets (only a fraction), but to the coffers of the Congress for the next general elections, and more than anything to please Sonia Gandhi? Nobody seems to notice what is happening under the reign of Sonia Gandhi.

That an Arundhati Roy is allowed to preach secession in India, whereas on the other hand the Congress government has been going after the army, the last body in India to uphold the time-honoured values of the Kshatriyas — courage, honour, devotion to the Motherland. They alone today practise true secularism, never differentiating between a Muslim or Hindu soldier and who for a pittance daily give their lives to their country. First it was the attempt of a caste census, a divide-and-rule ploy if there is one; then there are the first signs that the government is thinking about thinning down the presence of the Indian army in the Kashmir valley, which will suit Pakistan perfectly. And now there is the Adarsh housing society scam in which the army officers, at the worst, were innocently dragged into it. We know now that it was the politicians of the Congress who benefited the most out of it.

It would be impossible in France, for example, to have a non-Christian tell a Hindu (who is a non-elected president or PM) to be the absolute ruler of the country behind the scenes, superseding even the PM. There are many capable people in the Congress. Why can’t a billion Indians find one of their own, who will understand the complexity and subtlety of India, to govern themselves? Not only that, but her very presence at the top has unleashed forces, visible and invisible that are detrimental to the country. There is nothing wrong in espousing the best of the values of the West — democracy, technological perfection, higher standards of living — but many of the institutions are crumbling in the West: two out of three marriages end in divorce, kids shoot each other, parents are not cared for in their old age, depression is rampant and Westerners are actually looking for answers elsewhere, in India notably.

One does not understand this craze to Westernise India at all costs, while discarding its ancient values. Sonia Gandhi should do well to remember that there still are 850 million Hindus in India, a billion worldwide and that whatever good inputs were brought by different invasions, it is the ancient values of spirituality behind Hinduism which have made India so special and which gives it today unique qualities making an Indian Christian different from an American Christian, or an Indian Muslim different from a Saudi Muslim. It is an insult to these tolerant Hindus to show United States President Barack Obama as his first input of the Indian capital the tomb of Humayun, a man who slaughtered Hindus in thousands, taking Hindu women and children as captives. He even subjected his elder brother Kamran to brutal torture, gauging his eyes out and pouring lemon into them.

The tragedy of India is that it was colonised for too long. And unlike China, it always looks to the West for a solution to its problems. Sonia Gandhi, whatever her qualities, is just an incarnation of that hangover, an empress of India in new clothes.

Jammu and Kashmir out of U.N. list of disputes

Jammu and Kashmir has been removed from the United Nations list of unresolved disputes, in a setback to Pakistan which has been asking the world body to intervene on the issue.
The omission of Jammu and Kashmir from the list of disputes under the observation of the Security Council was noticed by Pakistan, whose envoy has filed a protest.
“The Jammu and Kashmir dispute was not mentioned in the context of unresolved long-running situations,” Pakistan's acting envoy to the U.N. Amjad Hussain B Sial said. “We understand this was an inadvertent omission, as Jammu and Kashmir is one of the oldest disputes on the agenda of the Security Council,” he said, speaking at the General Assembly session, which was discussing the functioning and reform of the Security Council.
It was organised by the U.K., which holds the presidency of the Security Council this month.
Pakistan has been asking the U.N. to intervene to help resolve the issue, but India has always maintained that the dispute has to be resolved bilaterally.

PRESS RELEASE IN DEFENCE OF FORMER SARSANGHCHALAK K.S. SUDARSHAN OF THE RASHTRIYA SWAYAM SEVAK SANGH (RSS)

Narain Kataria in New York
It is a matter of great disgrace and shame that Congress Party adherents in India have taken to the streets and set fire to the effigy of the former Sarsanghachalak K.S. Sudarshan of the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) for alleged derogatory remarks against AICC President Sonia Gandhi.

AICC General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi is reported to have said that “the reaction of the society should be such that no one dare speak in such language in future.” He further said that “if Congressmen and people of the country do something (untoward), they (RSS) will be responsible for it."
The above statement is motivated by a sinister design to instill fear in the minds of the opponents of Sonia Gandhi and silence them. At the same time, it is a signal to the Congressmen to go ahead and attack RSS offices and volunteers.
It is a paradox that these congressmen, because of the feudal environment and their obsequious servility, jump around and vie with one another to win laurels from their boss! They show great vigor and vitality when a Hindu leader is to be attacked but look the other way and go underground when the issue of Islamic terrorism or egregious inequities of other minorities comes up.
Indian citizens have every right to know about the background of their elected officials. Shri Sudarshan has raised four serious issues: (i) Sonia Gandhi is a CIA Agent; (ii) there was a conspiracy to assassinate her husband and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and his mother Indira Gandhi; (iii) her pedigree is unknown; and (iv) she had lied about her birth date.
We do not see anything wrong in the above allegations. Conversely, Shri Sudarshanji has provided an opportunity to the nation to debate the above issues and remove the lingering doubts from the minds of Indian citizens about their rulers.
Sonia Gandhi is an elected Member of Parliament. She is holding a high public office. She has been widely publicized as the 9th most powerful person in the world today. India is a democratic country. India is not the personal fiefdom of the Gandhi Dynasty and its sycophants. She is not above the law. Instead of indulging in hooliganism and behaving like ruffians, it is time to resolve these issues once and for all through deliberation and discussion.
In this connection we would like to inform the public that in 2008, the Indian National Overseas Congress of Sonia Gandhi (INOC) had filed three defamation cases in the amount of $220 million against me (Narain Kataria), Arish Sahani and Satya Dosapati in New York and New Jersey courts, for publishing a full page advertisement regarding Sonia Gandhi in The New York Times.
The Indian community in the USA supported us wholeheartedly in these frivolous lawsuits without any merit. We won two of the cases and the third one was withdrawn. The purpose of these cases was also to harass us and individually and collectively gag our voices.

RSS alleges harassment by investigators

November 09, 2010 9:59:05 AM PNS | Bangalore
The RSS on Saturday alleged that the investigative agencies have been harassing its cadre who has been falsely implicated in many cases across the country in the name of saffron terror. Addressing a Press conference in Bangalore, RSS, National executive member Ram Madhav has said that the investigative agencies have been physically and mentally harassing their cadre in the name of saffron terror. He, however, refused to give names and other details of the officers who have harassed the RSS cadre.

He said: “Some of the junior officers of the investigative agencies have been harassing our cadre in the name of saffron terror. They are mentally and physically harassing them. We are, however, cooperating with the agencies in their investigation. This is a political conspiracy and we are taking legal recourse in these matters.”

Ram Madhav announced that the RSS will have two hours sit in peaceful dharna across the country on November 10 to protest against political parties who have vested interest in defaming the RSS.

On the issue of senior RSS functionary Indresh Kumar, he said he has been falsely implicated in the Ajmer bomb blast case and said the FIR has no case against him. He, however, informed that the RSS was going to court against this. “I must tell you that we can’t be cowed down by these political conspiracies. The people who are behind this are living in a fool’s paradise. We demand that investigations should take place in non political atmosphere. Some of the Congress leaders have gone overboard and said they have proof to prove the involvement of RSS. Let them prove it,” said Ram Madhav.

He further said, “As soon as the chargesheet was filed some senior and responsible leaders of the Rajasthan Government and the Congress have gone overboard making irresponsible statements against Indresh Kumar and the RSS. There was also an attempt to revive the bogey of an Oxymoron called the Hindu terror. This won’t work.”

Ram Madhav also came down heavily on the Union Government who has a soft corner for Arundhati Roy and Gilani. The RSS is also having meeting across the country in December to augment the spirit of Allahabad HC decision on Ayodhya.

I am not Indian- says Syed Abdul Rahman Geelani

30th October 2010 Issue

I am not Indian- says Syed Abdul Rahman Geelani

Strong protest by ABVP & BJYM

KOLKATA, 30 OCT: After Kashmiri separatist hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani and author Arundhati Roy got heckled for their alleged secessionist remarks at a seminar in New Delhi last week, it was the turn of Delhi University professor Syed Ali Shah Geelani in Kolkata on Saturday. After the seminar in New Delhi demanding `Azadi` for Kashmir, a similar seminar also titled `Azadi` was organized at Vivekananda Hall in Jadavpur University today (30th October 2010) by a Maoist student group called UDSF (United Students Democratic Front) with the notorious secessionist and accused in Parliament Attack case, S.A.S. Geelani as the main speaker.

At the outset of the seminar, a speaker Mr. Siddhartha Guha Roy gave a speech in which he harped on the so-called `independent` history of Kashmir and asserted that Kashmir should be separated from India. All over the venue, posters and banners put up by the organizers openly demanded `Azadi` for Kashmir.

When a member of the audience Mr. Arun Shaw asked the speaker a question about the role of a lion hearted nationalist leader, Dr.Shyamaprasad Mukherjee, in integrating Kashmir with the rest of India, the Maoist organizers suddenly rushed towards him and started an unprovoked physical attack on him. There soon started a free for all with the organizers using sticks and rods which they had stocked beforehand for an obviously pre-planned attack, to beat up all the patriotic members of the audience mostly ABVP(Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad) and BJYM (Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha) activists who had gathered there in large numbers.

Some of the ABVP & BJYM activists, shouted slogans, "Go back Geelani! This is no place for a Pakistani agent!". They waved black flags and later went on a dharna outside the university campus. They said the seminar participants had claimed of “a Kashmir that did not belong to India”. This is nothing but an open “Hate Campaign” against India.

In this sudden and brutal attack amidst anti-national slogans and obscenities hurled at the patriotic members of the audience by the organizers comprising some notorious Maoists elements like Debolina Chakraborty, who was recently named by the West Bengal police as a collaborator in the Maoist atrocities in West Bengal. Many ABVP and BJYM activists were grievously injured.

After this attack ABVP and BJYM activists organized a road block in front of the University Gate blocking a main arterial road for over an hour in protest against the brutal attack and the anti-national seditious speeches at the seminar. It is significant that members of the public joined the blockade in large numbers when they saw the issue, despite being inconvenienced by the blockade.

ABVP has submitted a police complaint in Jadavpore Police Station demanding the arrest and legal proceedings against the organizers of the secessionist and seditious seminar along with all those involved in the brutal physical attack including Debolina Chakraborty and her gang.

ABVP state President Prof.Rabi Ranjan Sen demands that the organizers be booked on grounds of sedition as well as grievous assault. ABVP also demands that an enquiry should be conducted against the authorities of Jadavpur University as to how they granted permission to hold an anti-national and seditious seminar titled `Azadi` within the University campus, where posters openly advocating `Azadi for Kashmir. Who have allowed such posters to be put up all over the venue and a notorious and known anti-national person like Geelani, accused in the Parliament attack case and against whom an FIR has already been filed for his seditious speech in the LTG Auditorium, New Delhi on 21st October, was allowed to visit the campus and speak against the unity and integrity of India.

STATEMENT OF DR.SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY

STATEMENT OF DR.SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY, PRESIDENT OF
JANATA PARTY MADE IN CHENNAI ON 03.11.2010

1. The Home Minister Chidambaram’s inane comment on ‘Hindu Terror’ acts is actually a Home Ministry project of 2004-06. With the explicit approval on exercise of her extra-constitutional authority Ms.Sonia Gandhi had instructed the then Intelligence Bureau Director to recruit army, Hindu sadhus and sadhvis on the call of ‘patriotism’ and thus motivated them to commit acts of terror to polarize the Muslim community against Hindus.

2. In 2007, Ms.Gandhi ordered the termination of this clandestine operation that she had order in 200. She then used the project to discredit the Hindutva movement by targeting innocent and unsuspecting persons, focussing on RSS persons.

3. The framing of the Kanchi Shankaracharya in the Sankaraman murder case was also on the instruction of Ms.Sonia Gandhi to Ms.Sasikala. Ms.Jayalalitha the then CM, being a performing ‘circus lion’ in front of the ‘ring master’ Ms.Sasikala, obliged and hence the Shankaracharya was arrested.

4. The foreign Christian missionary lobby has been against the Shankaracharya because he had tried to co-opt Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes into the Hindutva movement.

5. I therefore welcome the RSS decision to launch a nation wide agitation to expose this slandering and framing of Mr.Indresh Kumar, and the RSS as an organization.
