A 61 year old dalit man Nallayan was burnt to death in Periyapatti Village of Namakkal District after his son Sekhar (27) eloped with a Muslim girl Gulzar (21) of the same village. When Nallayan was working in a shop in Periyapatti, Gulzar’s father Shahjahan allegedly went into an argument, at last poured petrol over Nallayan and ensued in death. A FIR was lodged against Shahjahan under section 307 vide crime no.311 of 2011 in Namakkal District.
