Christian Caste Violance from Meghalaya.

In one of our earlier message we mentioned about the Christian caste violance between people belonging to Garo and Rabha caste's of Christian religion occured in Indian state of Meghalaya. In the first week of January, 2011, they clashed each other killing several people including a Christian Pastor. 500 homes had been burned down, 50,000 people become homeless, thousands of livestock slaughtered.

But Indian electronic media covered the communal clashes in a very limited manner compared to Gujarat riots or Orissa Communal clashes. This clearly shows that Indian electronic media is interested in Hindu-Christian clashes or Hindu-Muslim clashes only, not in clashes between different caste's of Christianity.

Now, North East Sun, a fortnightly published from New Delhi and videly circulated in North East India come up with more pictures of the Christian caste attacks. Three photo's published by the said magazine is attached with this message.

Most important message of this clashes to Hindu's is that when a Christian dies in a Hindu-Christian communal clashes, his deadbody is eligible for a heigher compensaction than if he dies in Christian caste clashes.

After the Orissa Hindu-Christian clashes, the Christian organisactions including Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI) demanded 10 Lakh compensaction for every death and Government job for one dependant along with new house for every house distroyed.

But in the Meghalaya Christian caste clashes, Christian Human Rights Organisactions and their upper most boses sitting in CBCI settled for 3 Lakh for eary death and 3 bundles of CGI Sheets plus Rs. 10,000/- for every house distroyed.
